PRIMARY DUTIES: Subject matter expert for all technical information, processes, vehicle maintenance, and safety; Publications team interface between engineering, vendors, writers, illustrators, editors, Senior Technical Writers, and customers for technical publications development; Approver for technical and safety content of all technical publications and support material, arrived at through research of technical information, as well as by manually performing maintenance tasks on, in, under, and around our vehicles to ensure accuracy; Creates, maintains, and directs validation and other project-related schedules; Validates special tools and test equipment; Supports verification efforts with customers; Tracks and orders mandatory replacement parts during publications development and for customer verifications; Understands and supports diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures, both mechanical and electrical; Reads and interprets blueprints, harness prints, wiring diagrams, air and fluid flow diagrams, engineering system documents, and vendor source information; Supports team and customer meetings; Creates and maintains fault code insertion plan (if working with diagnostics development); Interacts with customers Equipment Specialists, subcontractor and suppliers, FSRs (Field Service Representatives), engineering and designers, ST&TE (Special Tools and Test Equipment) specialists, LSA (logistical support analysis) specialists, and parts handlers.
ACCOUNTABILITY: The incumbent is required to keep development projects on time by using time management techniques. The incumbent must possess the personal drive to display integrity, determination, and enthusiasm daily. Information must be accurate and reviewed by the appropriate subject matter experts. Program delays will result in poorly developed technical data and dissatisfied customers.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree in engineering or technology application, or A minimum of 5 years of technical product support experience, or A minimum of 5 years in military logistical support; At least two years of product engineering or technical product support experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: An ability to travel up to 25% of the time to support efforts.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Product experience/knowledge in specified product/application area; Mechanical aptitude and certifications, specifically with heavy truck experience; Proven ability to operate in cross-functional, Product/Business Center environment; Applications, product, and customer knowledge including a working knowledge of industry and military specifications; Ability to interface with internal and external customers and translate/document application and mission performance objectives into vehicle level functionality; Previous experience as a Subject Matter Expert, or comparable position; Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel; Demonstrated achievement of goals while demonstrating company's values; Proven customer focus.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: No supervisory responsibility, but may be called on to direct teammates and others in accomplishing tasks within a given project.
